TP-Link TL-WR802N

TP-Link TL-WR802N

Anyone on the forum have experience with the TP-Link TL-WR802N? Specifically has anyone tried running third party firmware on it? It looks like it is similar to the TL-WR841ND v9 and can unofficially run the firmware intended for the TL-WR841ND v9. Anyone try and have any experience with it? I got one as a gift and its a cool little unit for travel, I'd just like to give it some more capabilities...

the development of OpenWRT TL-WR802N

I resubmitted the patch for this device because a lot of people asked for it. But it looks like the development of OpenWRT is stalled for some time - so I'll leave the firmware binaries here until it has been integrated.

There's an image with and one without LuCI in case you need more space for additional packages.

This is the current trunk (Designated Driver) from 04-04-2016. It's not completely tested so your device might catch fire.

TP-LINK TL-WR802N V4

I’m trying to “add support” (well, see if it’s possible in the first place) for lede/openwrt and the tp link tl-wr802N v4.
According to https://wikidevi.com/wiki/TP-LINK_TL-WR802N_v4.x, the SoC is a MediaTek MT7628N, also used in TL-WR840N v4 for example, so that should be supported.
So, I opened up a tl-wr802n v4 and start searching for serial pins (usually, those are named TP_IN, TP_OUT, I read).
I found none.
So, what would be the next step to try to have lede running on these devices?
I took many photos of the board, if someone see something i missed…
Thanks,

According to this ticket for openwrt, it's the same chipset as TL-WR841N(D) v9 which is supported.
